86-year-old player gets PS5
A few days ago, an 86-year-old hardcore player in Sichuan, China, commonly known as Old Man Yang, received a gift from Sony. This grandfather had been in touch with Playstation when he was 63 and loved games very much.
His enthusiasm for the game caught Sony’s attention, and Sony gave Old Man Yang a unique PS5 console. The reason why this console is special is that the panel has autographs by the former and current Shanghai Sony president.
Copycat version of “PS5”
Not long ago, Alibaba’s international e-commerce platform AliExpress promoted this GameStation 5 console. The console is similar to PS5, but the controller is reminiscent of PS1. The latest games cannot be played on this console, only FC games are supported.
GameStation 5 became popular overnight because many players bought it and gave it good reviews. Some players even give it to their children as a birthday gift. As PS5 is facing a shortage crisis, many players humorously expressed their desire to buy GameStation 5 as a substitute.
Game consoles are stolen and resold
An employee working in a shipping company was commissioned to transport as many as 200 game consoles, including PS5 and Nintendo Switch. However, the man did not deliver the product, but chose to resell it. The game console was resold at a low price in a game store in Akihabara, with a profit of nearly 3 million yen.
After being arrested by the police, the man claimed that he could not return the buyer because he used all the profits to bet on horses. However, this person may not understand the game industry, because at this time when consoles are scarce, he uses low-price reselling instead of scalping high-priced sales.
Sony was accused of discriminating against women
Last week, a former Sony employee filed a lawsuit against the company in a California District Court, accusing Sony of violating the United States’ Equal Pay Act. The employee said that Sony is currently creating a working environment that discriminates against female employees. She said that female employees in the workplace were treated unequally, and the company adopted a promotion policy of men prior to women, depriving girls of promotion opportunities.
The employee also asked the court to approve the class action case, hoping to speak on behalf of all Sony female employees. Ironically, Sony issued a statement against Activision Blizzard’s sexual harassment scandal, condemning Blizzard for mishandling.
Blizzard suffered a cyber attack
Blizzard’s Battle.net server was hit by a hacker’s DDoS attack a few days ago, causing all players to be unable to log in. Although the server eventually recovered, there were polarized opinions on this attack.
Some players said that hacker DDoS attacks prevented them from enjoying the game, others were overjoyed, saying that the attack was part of a retaliation following the latest scandal by Activision CEO Bobby Kotick.
CDPR future development
After Cyberpunk 2077 was launched, it was ridiculed and condemned by players, and even resulted in refunds. During this period, with the slow restoration by CDPR, Cyberpunk 2077 attracted a group of players at the lowest price in history and received more than 20,000 praises during Steam autumn discount. Cyberpunk’s game mission director also issued a statement thanking gamers and emphasizing how important this is to him.
In addition, CDPR has just released its own financial report, revealing some of the company’s future goals. The person in charge of CDPR recently mentioned that in addition to announcing the release date of the next-generation version of The Witcher and Cyberpunk, a new 3A game will be produced. They also plan to add a multiplayer game mode to these two masterpieces so that players can play with their friends.
The above is this week’s news, what do players think about it.
